Some of the finest yachting spots are found in three locations: Florida, The Bahamas and the western Mediterranean. Many cities along the Florida coast are well-known for their luxurious yachting communities, but Fort Lauderdale is perhaps the best example of yachting excellence in the world. This city is brimming with yachting communities, marinas and private docks of the highest order.

Many European countries contain yachting communities that are exceptional for a variety of reasons. A key factor in their greatness is that four of the largest and best-known luxury yacht-producing companies are located in Western Europe: Ferretti Group and Azimut-Benetti in Italy, Feadship in Holland, and Lürssen in Germany. Some of the finest waterfront properties in the world are located on the Mediterranean.
Finally, the Bahamas is an excellent destination for Americans, and even Europeans, hoping to enjoy their yachts from November to February, when cold weather dissuades most boaters in the Northern Hemisphere from pursuing their hobby.

When it comes to taking a family vacation aboard a privately chartered yacht, there are many families who wish to do so, but fear that they cannot. One of the many reasons for that is because of restrictions. Private yachts are often associated with luxury and romance. For this reason, there are many individuals who believe that children are not allowed aboard privately chartered yachts.
