Decorati.com Launches New Service to Connect Consumers with Interior Designers:

Decorati Connect: DESIGN ADVISORS^TM

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 2009) – Decorati.com, the global online resource for interior design announces Design Advisors, a free online service that connects consumers with interior design help.  From hourly design consultations, to room-by-room plans, to full-scale design projects, consumers can find a designer to suit their needs.

Consumers fill out a short online form to describe their design requests (e.g., type and scale of work needed, location of home, design preferences and style, etc.).  They can also indicate if a local designer is required or if virtual, e-decorating help is acceptable.  Registered Decorati interior designers receive the requests and can choose to purchase the consumer lead if it’s a good fit with their services.  A maximum of five designers can respond to a consumer inquiry before it is sold out.

“Getting design help for your home was a challenging process.  First, there was a misconception that you had to choose between either hiring a designer for a full-scale project or doing it yourself, with no options in-between.  Second, there was no efficient way to describe your project and receive proposals from multiple designers at one time.  Our goal for Design Advisors is to solve both of these stumbling blocks,” says interior designer and Decorati CEO + Founder, Shane Reilly.  Reilly continues, “We connect consumers with designers and we provide a structure for describing available services.”

With the Design Advisors service, consumers can now get easy access to advice on smaller projects, like paint selection, drapery installation, or accessorizing.  Interior designers welcome the additional revenue and the opportunity to up-sell clients with additional services.

Consumers who aren’t ready for a project can browse Decorati and flip through online designer portfolios, read design articles and shop sample sales.  Design Advisors is just another way that Decorati is helping make interior design more accessible.
