Internet 101: Decorati & Traditional Home at Stark

Yesterday at the Stark Showroom for Spring Market at the D&D building in NY I had the amazing opportunity to interview Lauren Wiener, SVP of Interactive of Meredith Interactive (right).  We discussed trends and useful tips for interior designers to leverage the internet and social networking.  Our co-host was Traditional Home magazine (Publisher Debi Brandt pictured middle).

One useful tip from Lauren: don’t get overwhelmed, simply figure out how many hours a week you want to put towards marketing, save enough time for the things you have to do (such as updating your portfolio on your web site), and then engage in social media with the time remaining (Facebook, Twittr, Linked In, etc).  I suggested that if you don’t have time to make a blog, at least start participating in the “blogosphere” by commenting on other blogs, like this one!
