Keep reading to learn more about the stylish Italian fashion house, Nella Vetrina, and how they are refining the fashion furniture category.
When you set foot in the Nella Vetrina showroom in New York City, you can’t help but feel like you’ve stumbled upon something special. Nella Vetrina is the Italian translation for ‘inside the window,’ and when you look at their stylish furniture, bathroom, lighting and upholstery, it is easy to see why the company has received rave reviews across the industry from magazines to blog sites.
The creative duo responsible for bringing these delightful creations to the U.S. are Steve Brister and Jason Campbell. They launched the company in 2006, traveling all the way to Italy to create and source the collections that make up the company today. Steve Brister, the visionary creator of the Nella Vetrina brand and Jason Campbell, a jet-setting New York interior designer, pride themselves on the rich tradition behind the collections.
“Our company’s vision is to create a showcase of the best Italian designs, from traditional to transitional and modern.” – Steve Brister
Nella Vetrina’s featured collections are a creation of the great Italian furniture makers. Their launch collection, Giorgio Piotto, is born in the heart of authentic art furniture, Veneto, Italy. Inspired predominantly from the 17th and 18th centuries, the collection combines a unique French and Italian influence and covers more than 600 pieces for all living spaces. Each piece is hand-made by Italian artisans who have mastered their craft using only traditional and authentic techniques. The designs, materials, and colors used are based exactly on historical standards while the use of solid wood construction and dovetail joinery ensures stability and longevity to last for generations ahead.
“The philosophy is to make furniture as it was made 100 years ago. These pieces are the antiques of tomorrow.” – Jason Campbell
While the quality of the furniture is at the heart of the collection, it’s the striking color combinations that really make you stop and stare. Over 31 lacquered colors are available to choose from, different colors can be specified for the interior and exterior of the piece and you can add silver or gold leaf trim. The possibilities really are endless. There is even a local Italian artist available to hand paint any design you wish. These pieces are more than just furniture, they are truly works of art.
Without abandoning their traditional roots, Nella Vetrina continues to push the envelope with the introduction of fresh new modern designs like L’Officina. Created from the necessity to bring classic furnishings back to life, L’Officina is the source of a new production approach for the company: the fusion of manual skill with elements of contemporary design, all with the vision of keeping the tradition and quality of hand crafted furniture alive.
The unique forms shaped by craftsman include arm chairs, dining tables, consoles, sideboards, consoles and beds, all hand crafted in American Walnut. The natural wood finishes which are all sourced from environmentally sustainable nurseries are available with a gloss varnish or for the green client, a vegetable oil finish. Like with Nella Vetrina’s other featured collections, Lofficina can also be specified in lacquered color.
Nella Vetrina features one of the most luxurious bathroom collections to the trade and it is easy to see why these collections have been a regular feature on the ‘most popular products’ page of Decorati. Our members clear favorite is Hermitage with its spectacular range of finishes from gold and silver leaf with hand applied decorative patterns to Brazilian Rosewood and Venetian Antique Mirror.
Their follow on collection Pasha is equally impressive with its art deco inspiration and a unique diamond cut washbasin. In 2010, Nella Vetrina has expanded their bathroom collections to include 200 new contemporary styles which are available in more than 30 lacquered colors, oak and wenge.

A luxury bathroom certainly should not end with the vanity, and this is certainly the case with Nella Vetrina latest venture into the exclusive world of hand-made Murano tiles from Italy. Designed by Maria Christine Andretto, the tiles are ideal for creating a feature in any space, from bathrooms to kitchens and beyond. The tiles are completely hand-made using the ancient technique of melting sheets of Murano glass to create the most stunning depth of color. The glass is then combined with precious metals such as 24 carat gold, pure silver and platinum to create a stunning visual impact. For the customer looking for the ultimate sophisticated luxury, originality and true personal style, look no further. Nella Vetrina can also work with the designer to create completely custom tile designs for both residential and contract / hospitality projects.
Nella Vetrina offers a spectacular collection of hand-made lighting from Murano, home to the ancient form of glass blowing for more than 1000 years. Overseen by the Maestri (Glass Master), the glass making of Murano is prized above all others and is recognized as the most refined in the world. Nella Vetrina’s feature lighting collection AV Mazzega has revived and reinterpreted the Murano heritage with a spectacular collection of traditional and modern lighting styles.
Working alongside a fine selection of international designers, the AV Mazzega collection carries with it centuries of experience and craftsmanship and is the result of exhausting, meticulous hand crafted work. Nella Vetrina also offers a custom chandelier design service for those clients looking to create spectacular one-of-a-kind chandelier creations.
“Any size, any color or any style. Our custom chandelier design service offers the designer flexibility.” – Jason Campbell
While Nella Vetrina is most well known for their furniture, lighting and bathroom collections, they also offer a beautiful array of upholstered goods. The collection includes fully upholstered beds, chairs, sofas, ottomans, benches, and more and for those customs with bespoke needs, a custom upholstery service is also available.
Nella Vetrina’s collections are available through their showroom located in the D&D Building in New York, and they ship to all areas of the U.S. and around the world.
